WorldofGood.com by eBay Trust Provider Program

Please read this page carefully before applying to the WorldofGood.com by eBay Trust Provider program. If you have questions, please contact trust.provider@worldofgood.com.
  1. Definition
A Trust Provider on WorldofGood.com by eBay is an organization with a stated mission of promoting social or ecological good. Trust Providers encourage transparency within supply chains, promoting ecological sustainability, economic empowerment, or ethical business practices. They operate with a clearly stated, public set of standards for verification, certification, or monitoring of their members or products.
  2. Eligibility to become a Trust Provider
In order to become a Trust Provider, an organization must meet all of the following criteria:
    1. The organization must verify and endorse the business practices of its members, OR certify its members’ production processes, OR certify its members’ products or their ingredients.
    2. The organization’s standards must exceed conventional practices and have a greater benefit to the people and environment.
    3. The organization must be a third party verifying the activities of independent producers or sellers. (Self-certification is a conflict of interest and not permitted. An organization that sells products on WorldofGood.com cannot become a Trust Provider. An organization that wholesales ingredients, materials, or products to sellers on WorldofGood.com, can’t be a Trust Provider. This is true even for organizations that developed their own set of standards for their vendors or products.)
    4. The organization must have been in operation for at least one year.
  3. Types of Trust Providers
There are three kinds of Trust Providers. Some Trust Providers screen organizations for more than one level:
    1. Product-level Trust Providers certify individual products. Often you'll see their logo on the product packaging, which ensures that the product meets the organization's strict standards.
    2. Producer-level Trust Providers work with producers, cooperatives, and their communities to develop and verify People Positive or Eco Positive methods of production.
    3. Seller-level Trust Providers certify individual products. Often you'll see their logo on the product packaging, which ensures that the product meets the organization's strict standards.
  4. Trust Provider application and program requirements
    1. Identify one person in your organization who can be contacted should a question arise related to the veracity of any member’s, affiliate’s, or licensee’s claim.
